INTERNATIONAL PAINTINGS AND SCULPTURES CATALOGUE ONLINE
The 1992 catalogue of 'European and American paintings and sculptures 1870-1970 in the Australian National Gallery' by Michael Lloyd and Michael Desmond, with its extended discussions of works of art, exhibition histories and related literature, is now available online at http://www.nga.gov.au/international Over 150 works of art are accessible here. The online catalogue will be progressively updated with information and images.

Recent Gallery publications 'The Art of Collaboration: The Big Americans', 'Jackson Pollock's Blue Poles' and 'Australian Art in the National Gallery of Australia' are now available from http://ngashop.com.au

Exhibition tickets for 'Jackson Pollock's Blue Poles' and 'The Big Americans' are now available at http://ngashop.com.au
Every 20th exhibition ticket sold online will receive a free 'Blue Poles' catalogue valued at $39.95.

SCULPTURE PRIZE SHORTLIST
The National Gallery of Australia and Macquarie Bank have announced the artists selected for the 2003 National Sculpture Prize and Exhibition. 'THE GENIUS OF THE PLACE: CELEBRATING THE SCULPTURE GARDEN'
On Saturday 12th October from 1.30-4.00pm in the James O. Fairfax Theatre there will be an event celebrating the Gallery's sculpture garden. Christopher Vernon, Senior Lecturer in Landscape Architecture, University of Western Australia and Professor Ken Taylor, Cultural Heritage Research Centre, University of Canberra will be speaking. 'DIAMONDS'
As part of the National Gallery of Australia's 20th birthday celebrations, leading New Zealand artist Neil Dawson was commissioned to create 'Diamonds' a major sculptural work, replacing Dawson's earlier work 'Globe'. See http://www.aila.org.au/nga12oct/diamonds.html for a photo essay on the work.

SUB-URBAN 5
On Saturday 19 October from 2-5pm art, music, dance, fashion and film will combine for Sub-Urban 5, Celebrating the Dynamic Force of Youth Culture. The afternoon will include Fresh Funk, CIT fashion extravaganza, DJs and street dance, The Bumble Beez (winner JJJ unearthed and Fly TV Music Comp), and student films, as well as free entry to 'Jackson Pollock's Blue Poles' and 'The Big Americans'.
